Replacing the Paper Pick-up Assy

This work instruction outlines how to replace the Paper Pick-up Assembly on the LJ2400 Series. 

Paper Pick-up Assembly

RM1-1481-000CN

1. Remove: -- Right side cover -- Back Cover -- I/O cover -- Left side cover -- Top right cover -- Top cover -- Front right cover -- Control panel -- Formatter -- Right side handle -- ECU -- Gear Assembly per Service Manual instructions.

2. Using needle-nose pliers, pinch the tab on the pick-up assembly gear and slide the gear off of the shaft.

3. Remove the screw to the right of the Tray 2 Solenoid, at the base of the chassis.

4. On the left side of the printer, remove the screw to the left of the cartridge door spring, at the base of the chassis.

5. Remove the steel plate across the bottom of the printer.

6. Remove two screws from the left side tray guide and remove the guide.

7. Remove two screws from the right side tray guide. Remove wires from wire loom (guides) and remove the tray guide from the printer.

8. Remove two screws from the idler roller plate (Roller stay assembly -- RM1-1485-000CN) and remove plate from the printer.

9. Release the duplex pan.

10. Remove four screws from the Tray 2 Paper Pickup Assembly (two on left, two on right). Lift the left side of the assembly and work the right side out. Lift the assembly out of the printer and repair or replace.
