Service Error 14 Printing Envelopes from Front Multi-Purpose (MP) Tray

The printer displays Service Error 14 when trying to print Com10 envelopes from front MP tray. The Software Application and Printer Driver are set to the correct media size (Com 10 envelope) but the error still appears.

The Software Application and Printer Driver may not be overriding the printer Menu settings.

Power cycle the printer and enter the Printer Menu and make the following changes. Try Step # 1 first. If this does not correct the problem perform Step # 1 and # 2, then power cycle the printer after making the Menu changes.

Step #1 Overview:

Under Paper Menu change:
Media Size/Type
Front Tray
Media Size = to Envelope

Step #2 Overview:

Under PCL Menu change:
Parameter Values
Paper Size
Select = Com 10 Envelope

The following menu sequence can be followed to make the above menu changes for Step #1 and #2. Refer to your users manual for detailed menu navigation.

A. PRESS MENU printer displays = "Paper Menu"
B. PRESS SELECT 1X = printer displays "Copies"
C. PRESS NEXT 6X = printer displays "Media Size/Type"
D. PRESS SELECT 3X = printer displays "Letter"
E. PRESS NEXT 7X = printer displays "Com10 Envelope"
F. PRESS SELECT 1X = printer displays "Media Size"

Step #2

G. PRESS RETURN 3X = printer displays "Paper Menu"
H. PRESS NEXT 3X = printer displays "PCL Menu"
I. PRESS SELECT 1X = printer displays "Orientation"
J. PRESS NEXT 11X = printer displays "Parameter Values"
K. PRESS SELECT 1X = printer displays "Paper Source"
L. PRESS NEXT 1X = printer displays "Paper Size"
M. PRESS SELECT 1X = printer displays "Executive"

This menu change should only have to be done one time and should not have to be repeated when envelopes are used in Front MP Tray again.
