The printer displays a "Card slot X not initialized error message". The solution for this error condition is to perform a Disk Initialization. CAUTION: Before doing this make sure that if the customer has a hard drive that the customer first removes the hard drive from the printer. Failure to do so will wipe all contents from the hard drive. NOTE: Ram Disk may need to be turned Off for this process to work. The default for Ram Disk is usually Auto. To perform a Disk Initialization use the following steps: Turn the printer off and then back on. When the memory count starts, press and hold the Menu button. Release the Menu button when all three LEDs are illuminated. Press the Back button. The display will now show Initialize disks. Press the green Check button to start the process. The printer control panel display will automatically come back to Ready after the initialization is complete. ©2005 Hewlett-Packard
