Proper Power off Sequence

Properly Switching Off the Printer In normal circumstances the power save feature should be used to avoid having to switch the printer off. However if you do wish to switch the printer off manually, please carry out the following procedure:

Note: This procedure will help to increase the life of the Image Drums and particularly the Fuser Assembly. If paper is left jammed in the paper path for an extended period of time, or the printer is shut down too quickly after paper exits, this could affect the fuser rollers, where added pressure could create image problems over time.

CAUTION!

NEVER turn the printer off while it is printing.
Always wait at least 5-10 seconds before turning off printer after paper has exited. If paper is jammed in the printer, it should be removed immediately.
If the optional hard disk has been installed, The
following procedure MUST BE FOLLOWED before
turning off to protect any data that is stored on the hard disk.
It is recommended that you follow this shutdown
procedure each time the printer is switched off for any reason.
After switching the printer OFF, wait at least 10 seconds before switching it ON again. This allows the internal power levels to drop. Switching on too soon could cause the printer to malfunction.
