13.20 or 13.05 Errors

13.20 or 13.05 paper jam on their CLJ3500/3700 products

1. Isolate printing functionality by performing a PAPER PATH TEST.

Lift the latch on the printer front door and open the door.
CAUTION: Do not place anything on the surface of the transfer unit. Also, do not touch the transfer unit contacts located on the left side of the unit.

3. Remove the transfer unit (callout 1 in photo below) by grasping the blue handles (callout 2 in the photo below) on both sides of the transfer unit. With your right thumb, press and hold the lever on the right side handle (callout 3 in the photo below) then lift the handle up (callout 4 for direction), followed by lifting the left side (callout 5 in the photo below). Set the unit aside on a flat surface. Be careful not to touch the black, upper surface (transfer belt) of the unit.

Rotate the paper removal knob. That is the bright green knob to the right of and behind the pick-up roller.
Close the front door approximately half-way, matching the arrow on the right door bracket with the arrow on the inside of the printer.

7. Remove any visible paper from inside the printer's transfer area.

8. Locate the top, flat bar (callout 1 below) and pull up on the white tab marked with black dots (callout 2 below) to raise the bar to a vertical position (callout 3 below). The bar will remain vertical. The front door will need to be kept in the same position, with the arrows aligned, during this procedure.

NOTE: Do not touch the registration sensor lenses (callout 4 in the photo below).
