DC controller Firmware Upgrade Obtain DC Controller firmware from this URL: http://www.hp.com/pond/firmware/hidden/clj3500dccfw.html To recover from this state, it is recommended to first replace the toner cartridge that is causing the issue, have the printer in a ready state, then upgrade the DC Controller firmware to the newest revision using the .rfu file. Follow the suggestions below if this doesnt remove the 10.00.xx error. First, replace the toner cartridge that is causing the error (10.00.00 is the black cartridge, 10.00.01 is cyan, 10.00.02 is magenta, and 10.00.02 is yellow). Once the printer is in a ready state, then upgrade the customers DC Controller firmware with the latest revision (2E). You can check the DCC firmware by printing a configuration page and checking the Printer Number. Access to this .rfu file is only available via the local HP Customer Contact Center (it is not available on hp.com). NOTE: There are three separate files to do this, a .rfu for the Color LaserJet 3700 famly, a .rfu for the Color LaserJet 3500n, and a .exe file for Color LaserJet 3500 connected via a USB port If the firmware upgrade did not remove the 10.00.XX error, do the following: Open and close the front door Ensure the cartridges are fully seated Swap the cartridge for the color indicated with a cartridge in another slot to determine whether the error follows the cartridge or stays with the slot. If the error follows the cartridge, replace the cartridge. Otherwise, continue with the next step Check the memory controller PCB contacts to the memory tag. Clean if dirty To Be Performed By:Service or Customer Contact Center agents: If the DCC firmware needs to be upgraded (Configuration page shows anything less than 2D for the Printer Number), please walk them through the RFU procedure. (See attached document on how to download the RFU in a networked, parallel or USB environment.)
