The cartridge is the latest addition to the Xerox "It's Compatible" line of toner cartridges, which now has 19 HP compatible products.

The cartridge can be used in the HP LaserJet 9050, 9000 and 9040 printers targeted to office workgroups and entry-level production printing environments. Each cartridge contains a microchip that supports HP "smart print" functions, enabling the printer to automatically recognize the cartridge and indicate when toner is low, as well as how many prints remain before the cartridge needs to be replaced.

Consistent with Xerox's commitment to responsible and environmental business practices, each product box contains a prepaid postage label that allows customers to send used cartridges back to Xerox to be recycled.

The Xerox replacement cartridge for the HP LaserJet 9050, 9000 and 9040 is available immediately in the United States and Canada and will be available in late May in Europe.
