59.5x Errors

A defective drum drive assembly for the indicated print cartridge causes most 59.5X. A damaged cartridge motor or a defective DC Controller can also cause this error.

Turn the printer off and on to see if the error clears.

Cold reset the printer.

Verify the exact 59.5X PRINTER ERROR for parts predict.

Check the print cartridge motors for damage.

Replace the indicated drum drive motor. Refer to Chapter 6 in the HP Color LaserJet 4600/4650 Service Manual for removal and replacement instructions.

Reconnect the print cartridge connector on the DC controller PCB (J1013 for cyan, J1031 for magenta, J1032 for yellow, and J1033 for black).

Replace the DC controller PCB. Calibrate the printer after replacing the DC controller.

Instructions for calibrating the printer

Use the following procedure to calibrate the printer after replacing the DC controller, the ETB, the drum drive motors, the drum drive gears, or a laser/scanner.

Press Menu or (Select) to enter the Menus.

Press (Down Arrow) to highlight Configure Device.

Press (Select) to select Configure Device.

Press (Down Arrow) to highlight Print Quality.

Press (Select) to select Print Quality.

Press (Down Arrow) to highlight Calibrate Now or Full Calibrate Now.

Press (Select) to select Calibrate Now or Full Calibrate Now.

Wait for the printer to calibrate.
