Oki Printer Compatibility in Citrix Metaframe

Oki Data printers have been checked for their operation with MetaFrame software in the environments listed below. The printer drivers that have been verified can be downloaded from the Oki Data web site. Please check driver version prior to downloading. In addition, Oki Data is a premier partner of Citrix, see the following links to partnership and important application note information:

The Oki application note is at:

Sign up for access to the Citrix Developers Network at the following URL, where Oki is also listed as a Premier Partner :

Specific Model Limitations

The C5100 can be used as a local printer or network printer (i.e. the printer directly connected to MetaFrame Server or Print Server, and shared on Windows Network.) Be aware that the C5100 printer cannot be used as a client printer (the printer displayed in Client computer's Printer Folder)
Regarding C7300/C7500/C9300/C9500 Series PostScript driver:
Within printing from Client, "Request Job Name for each print job" is disabled in Proof and Print / Secure setup. The Job Name Setting dialog will not appear on the Client window. Instead it will appear on the Server Main window.

Workaround:
Remove the check mark from the "Request Job Name for each print job" box.

General Limitations

Regarding Client printer created automatically:

Some Client printer settings are not carried over when using automatic creation. The following client printer settings are carried over when automatically created:

- Paper size (except for user-defined sizes, Custom sizes)
- Resolution or print quality
- Print orientation (Portrait, landscape)
- Copy
- Scale
The settings for the printer, once automatically created, will be saved and resumed at reconnection.
With MetaFrame XP Feature Release 2, if "Refresh printer settings at log-on" is set to ON in the Citrix Management Console's printer management property, the above items will be refreshed according to the settings on the Client side. All other items will remain the same as at the previous log-on.

Notes

The printer models listed above have been verified to operate in the specified configurations. No operational check has been run on software applications other than the Oki printer driver and MetaFrame XP. The information contained in this document is effective 2 April 2003.
