Installing the USB Device Driver for the PagePro 1300 Series

When connecting the PagePro 1300 Series printer to your computer with a USB cable, install the USB device driver according to the following instructions before installing the printer driver.

This printer cannot be connected with a USB cable to a computer running Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 or earlier versions of Windows 98.

The instructions below reference files located on the CD-ROM that shipped with your printer. If you are installing from a file downloaded from the corporate web site and extracted into a temporary working directory on your PC, simply substitute that path name for the CD path name where ever applicable.

If your PC doesn't revert to the Add New Hardware Wizard when the CD is inserted, the you may need to remove the USB Root Hub (see your System Administrator) and reboot the PC. Additionally, you may be able to go into the Device Manager and look for an Unknown Device listing (again, see your System Administrator).

To install the USB device driver under Windows 98

1. If not done so already, turn on your computer and start up Windows 98.

2. If not done so already, turn on the printer.

3. Check that Windows 98 has finished starting up and that the printer is ready.

4. Insert the Printer Driver CD-ROM that comes with your printer into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

5. Click [Next] to display the next dialog.

6. Check the 'Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended).' option button, and then click [Next].

7. When the next dialog appears, check the 'Specify a location' box, and then click [Browse...].

8. Browse the CD-ROM and navigate to:

For 1300W -- Drivers/Language/Win98USB. Then click OK.
For 1350W -- Drivers/Language/Win9x. Then, click [OK].

9. Follow the instructions that appear on your computer screen to complete the installation.

10. When the following dialog appears, click [Finish] to finish the installation.

This completes the installation of the USB device driver for the PagePro 1300 Series printer. Now you need to proceed to install the printer driver by hitting the BACK button on your browser and proceeding with the driver installation instructions.

To install the USB device driver under Windows Me

1. If not done so already, turn on your computer and start up Windows Me.

2. If not done so already, turn on the printer.

3. Check that Windows Me has finished starting up and that the printer is ready.

4. Insert the Printer Driver CD-ROM that comes with your printer into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

5. Check the 'Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)' option button, and then click [Next].

6. Check the 'Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)'. option button, check the 'Specify a location' box and then click [Browse...].

7. Browse the CD-ROM and navigate to:

For 1300W -- Drivers/Language/Win98USB. Then click OK.
For 1350W -- Drivers/Language/Win9x. Then, click [OK].

8. Follow the instructions that appear on your computer screen to complete the installation.

9. When the following dialog appears, click [Finish] to finish the installation.

This completes the installation of the USB device driver for the PagePro 1300 Series printer. Now you need to proceed to install the printer driver by hitting the BACK button on your browser and proceeding with the driver installation instructions..

To install the USB device driver under Windows 2000

If the printer is connected to the computer using a USB cable, USB Printing Support may automatically be incorporated, depending on the operating system. In order to activate all functions of the PagePro 1300 Series, the USB device driver for PagePro 1300 Series must be installed. Install the USB device driver for PagePro 1300 Series according to the following procedure.

1. If not done so already, turn on your computer and start up Windows 2000.

2. If not done so already, turn on the printer.

3. Check that Windows 2000 has finished starting up and that the printer is ready.

4. Insert the Printer Driver CD-ROM that comes with your printer into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

5. Click [Cancel] to close the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog.

6. Right-click the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop, and then click 'Properties' in the shortcut menu that appears. The System Properties dialog appears.

7. Click the 'Hardware' tab of the System Properties dialog, and then click the [Device Manager...] button.

8. Double-click 'USB Printing Support' below 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. The USB Printing Support Properties dialog appears.

9. Click the 'Driver' tab of the USB Printing Support Properties dialog, and then click [Update Driver...].

10. Click [Next] to display the next dialog.

11. Check the 'Search a suitable driver for my device (recommended)' option button, and then click [Next].

12. When the next dialog appears, check the 'Specify a location' box, and then click [Next].

13. Click [Browse...].

14. Browse the CD-ROM and navigate to:

For 1300W -- Drivers/Language/Win98USB. Then click OK.
For 1350W -- Drivers/Language/Win2000. Then, click [OK].

15. Click [OK], and then click [Next].

16. Follow the instructions that appear on your computer screen to complete the installation.

17. When the following dialog appears, click [Finish] to finish installing the USB device driver.

This completes the installation of the USB device driver for the PagePro 1300 Series printer. Now you need to proceed to install the printer driver by hitting the BACK button on your browser and proceeding with the driver installation instructions.

To install the USB device driver under Windows XP

If the printer is connected to the computer using a USB cable, USB Printing Support may automatically be incorporated, depending on the operating system. In order to activate all functions of the PagePro 1300 Series, the USB device driver for PagePro 1300 Series must be installed. Install the USB device driver for PagePro 1300 Series according to the following procedure.

1. If not done so already, turn on your computer and start up Windows XP.

2. If not done so already, turn on the printer.

3. Check that Windows XP has finished starting up and that the printer is ready.

4. Insert the Printer Driver CD-ROM that comes with your printer into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.

5. Click [Cancel] to close the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog.

6. Click [start], and then click 'My Computer'.

7. Click 'View system information' in the System Tasks list.

8. Click the 'Hardware' tab of the System Properties dialog, and then click the [Device Manager] button.

9. Double-click 'USB Printing Support' below 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. The USB Printing Support Properties dialog appears.

10. Click the 'Driver' tab of the USB Printing Support Properties dialog, and then click [Update Driver...].

11. Click the 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)' option button, and then click [Next].

12. When the next dialog appears, check the 'Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install' box, and then click [Next].

13. Click [Have Disk...].

14. Click [Browse...].

15. Browse the CD-ROM and navigate to:

For 1300W -- Drivers/Language/Win98USB. Then click OK.
For 1350W -- Drivers/Language/WinXP. Then, click [OK].

16. Click [OK], and then click [Next].

17. When the following dialog appears, click [Finish] to finish installing the USB device driver.
