Noisy Output Rollers

Symptom:
During warm-up or printing the C5100n/C5300n makes a high pitch sound which is generally described as squeaking.

Cause:
The output rollers are rubbing against the frame which is in turn causing the squeaking.

Resolution:
The output rollers can be lubricated with White Lithium grease. White lithium grease is a multipurpose grease that can be used on almost anything, and unlike most other types of grease it doesn't need a certain temperature in order for it to work efficiently. White lithium is long lasting and it is easy to see when applied.

Note: Only a small amount of grease need be applied to each lubrication point. Lithium grease is readily available in most hardware and electronic stores.
