Operator Panel Displays Error Message After Installing Network or Hard Drive Option

Symptom:
The operation panel displays " DISK FILE OPERATION FAILED 3" error, immediately after a network card or hard drive is installed.

Cause:
The Flash ROM formatting was stopped or interrupted before completion

Resolution:
The Flash ROM has to be re-initialized, see procedure below. Note: This procedure will require two people because of the number of buttons that have to be held down at the same time.

Turn the printer's power switch OFF
Press and hold down the 0,3,5,6 buttons together while powering the printer ON
Continue to hold all four of these buttons until the operation panel display reads "FLASH ROM INITIALIZING"
Once this is displayed the buttons can be released and the procedure is finished
