When the printer wakes up after several hours in Powersave mode, toner does not adhere to printouts. After 20 to 50 pages, the printer may begin to properly fuse toner on printouts. If the printer is powercycled, the pages also fuse properly. This issue is most commonly seen when the printer is used first thing in the morning after being in Powersave overnight. Use the following workaround to set the Powersave setting to Low from the control panel of the printer. Press (Select) to enter the menus. Press (Down Arrow) and scroll to Configure Device, and then press (Select). Press (Down Arrow) and scroll to Resets, and then press (Select). Press (Down Arrow) and scroll to Powersave, and then press (Select). Press (Down Arrow) and scroll to Low, and then press (Select). Solution is now available An updated DC Controller, part number RG5-5901-060CN, is available which fixes this issue. The "printer number" on the Configuration Page that is associated with this version is 61. Once the new DC Controller is installed, set the Powersave setting back to High. A combination of several conditions has been found to cause this issue. The following conditions must be met in order for this issue to occur. Powersave - Set to High (this is the default setting for 220v units). Ambient room temperature less than or equal to 15 degrees C (60 degrees F). Time elapsed while in Powersave - 6 to 8 hours (shorter or longer periods of time will not cause this issue). © 2005 Hewlett-Packard
