Background / Overspray on Heavy Stocks

When printing on heavy paper stock in color, some Background / Overspray is noticed.

This is generally only noticed on heavy stock and or glossy stock. There are many variables that play into this occurence such as printer settings, drum fatigue, and environment. All of these variables can play into the background / overspray problem.

To help alleviate the background spray the following menu changes can be made: On the printers Operator Panel, press Menu until the Maintenance Menu is displayed.

Press the Item + button until the menu option "Paper Color Setting" is displayed.

Next, press the Value + key until the value of +1 is displayed *

Press the Select Key to save this setting.

Now press the On Line button to put the printer back in a ready state.

* The range for values under the Paper Color Setting can only be set to a Maximum of +2 or a Minimum of -2. These settings may need to be adjusted differently for different environments and print media.
