Noise or vibration in the C7200/C7400 series printer. The noise is usually a squealing / humming that can be accompanied by the vibration. There is a fan (Power Cooling Fan) that is attached to the underside of the printer chassis, that if it goes bad causes the above symptoms. To confirm that the fan is the problem, it can be disconnected from the engine board before dissasembling the entire machine. If the noise and vibration go away after disconnecting the fan then replace the Power Cooling Fan P/N 41469001. If the fan is disconnected it will not cause any error conditions. However, this should be used as a troubleshooting mechanism ONLY. If the fan is not replaced and is left disconnected, the Power Supply can overheat. The image shown below is of the Engine Controller board as it is oriented in the printer. The red circle shows the location of the Fan connector.
