Missing or Broken Swing Plate and 23T Gear

The Paper Pickup Assembly feed roller shaft has a swing plate (RL1-0013-000CN) and gear (RC1-0371-000CN) that have been found missing or broken on some printer units. Symptoms include a 13.1 paper jam. The E-clip or gear may actually have come loose and been found in the tray.

Repair and replacement instructions

NOTE: Refer to the Service Manual for more detailed instructions.

Proceed with Tray 1 Paper Pickup Assembly Removal instructions as per the Service Manual.

Remove the Paper Pickup Drive Assembly as per the Service Manual.

Remove the bushing and 18Tooth gear from the end of the feed roller shaft.

Remove the compression spring and slide the Paper Pickup Arm to the left; slice the roller shaft to the left.

Remove the swing plate and the 23Tooth Gear.

Replace with new parts.
