Resetting Transfer Kit

HP Color LaserJet 4500 and 4550 Printers - Resetting the Consumable Count after Replacing Transfer Kit

Use the Reset menu to clear maintenance messages that appear on the printer control panel after replacing consumable items.

NOTE: For the CLJ4500 printer the message Transfer Kit Low, Replace Kit (4500) has to be displayed or the transfer count cannot be reset. It has to reach this point before it will be displayed.

Perform the following steps to reset the message Transfer Kit Out, Replace Kit:

Press the MENU key until Resets Menu appears in the control panel display.

Press the ITEMkey until New Transfer Kit Select If Done appears in the display.

Press SELECT.

NOTE: The transfer kit low message appears once 95 percent of the transfer kit's life has been consumed.
