Note: If a scheduled maintenance message beginning with the code 80 is displayed on the operator panel, click here. If not, follow the instructions below. Important! It is essential that the transfer belt is lowered into the correct position for belt removal as it may otherwise become stuck in the printer. To position the transfer belt: Go to the printer operator panel and press the Menu> button until Supplies Menu appears on the display. Press Select to enter the Supplies Menu and then press the Menu> button until the words Replace Supplies appear under the Supplies Menu heading. Press the Select button and then press the Menu> button until Belt appears as the supply item to be replaced. Press the Select button and then the Menu> button until =Replace Now appears on the display. Press the Select button. The printer will briefly display Saved followed by Preparing for Maintenance and will then go through the process of lowering the belt for removal. When the process is complete, the display will flash Printer Ready for Maintenance followed by Power Off to Replace Items. Power off the machine and follow the instructions below for actual belt replacement. To replace the belt: Warning! Do not touch, drop, or place anything on the transfer belt (A). Touching the surface of the transfer belt or placing items on it may cause damage. Complete these steps to open the top cover. CAUTION! The inside of the printer may be hot! Allow the printer to cool before touching. 
Loosen the thumbscrews on each side of the transfer belt cover. 
Lift and remove the transfer belt cover. 
Loosen the thumbscrews on each side of the transfer belt. 
Pull the transfer belt out. 
To install the transfer belt: Remove the replacement transfer belt from the packing material. 
Align the transfer belt with the opening in the printer. 
Slide the transfer belt in until it is fully seated. 
Tighten the transfer belt thumbscrews. 
Align and place the transfer belt cover as shown. 
Tighten the transfer belt cover thumbscrews. 
Warning! Do not touch, drop, or place anything on the transfer belt. Touching the surface of the transfer belt or placing items on it may cause damage. Lift and remove the four shipping spacers from the transfer belt. Note: If you do not remove the four shipping spacers from the transfer belt (A), you may not be able to close the top cover. CAUTION! Before closing the top cover, make sure everyone is at a distance from the printer and that the area under the cover is free of hands, clothing, and other items. Close the top cover and the front door. Reconnect any optional devices to the printer. Turn the optional devices on. Turn the printer on. When the belt has been replaced: Power the printer back on. When the printer has finished initializing, the phrase Did you replace the belt? will appear on the display, followed by Select=Yes and Stop=No. Press the Select button to indicate that the belt was indeed replaced. The printer will automatically generate two belt alignment pages. For each page, choose the line that best represents the X and Y planes in each group of lines. Enter the value for that line on the printer display as prompted, using the buttons to change the current value and the Select button to set the new value.
