Tray 1 (multi-purpose) paper pick-up roller

Spread the pick-up roller locks (see callout in photo at right) on each side of the tray 1 pick-up roller to release the roller. The roller should "pop" out of the clips.

NOTE: The pick-up roller locks are roughly located at the 12 o'clock position. For better access to these locks, you may need to rotate the pick-roller shaft about 3/4 turn (rotate away from you) until the locks are directly in front of you for easy access.

Rotate the top of the roller off the shaft, and then lift the roller out of the printer.

Install the new roller by inserting round pivot pins on each side of the roller into the bottom slots on the pick-roller locks (see arrow at right). Then push the top of the roller into the top locks, and the pick roller should snap into place.

Install the new roller. Test by remove paper from tray 2, inserting paper into tray 1 and printing the configuration page(s).

Press the SELECT button on the control panel display.
Press the UP or DOWN button to scroll through the menu until INFORMATION appears in the control panel display and then press SELECT.
Press the UP or DOWN button to scroll through the menu until PRINT CONFIGURATION appears in the control panel display and then press SELECT.
